About the event
Come and celebrate Lucia Day, a festival of light. We have imported a little bit of Nordic December ritual to our community and will walk our streets with lights and lanterns to celebrate the darkest time of the year.
Please join us for our short procession at the bottum of Chapels Drive on Middle Street. We will walk down Middle Street and up Lower street whilst singing the Santa Lucia song (humming is also valid). We luckily have the choir people to give our procession some vocal body. We will finish at Trinity Rooms for nourishing soup, mulled cider/applejuice, Lucia buns and other festival treats. Our piano will come out from under its cover and we will continue the evening with carols and community ‘hygge’.
Food and drinks will be served on a 'pay what you can if you can' basis.
