Stroud Film Festival introduces a Film Screening Event co hosted with Inclusion Gloucestershire at Trinity Rooms.
We're thrilled to host an inspiring evening of film and dialogue with Dramatic Change, the innovative drama and advocacy project from Inclusion Gloucestershire. This user-led charity, serving people of all ages and abilities, has created a series of powerful short films that give voice to individuals facing disabling barriers in our society.

During the screening, each film will be thoughtfully introduced with reflections on its impact within our communities. Following the presentations, audience members will have the valuable opportunity to engage directly with the creators during a Q&A session with Dramatic Change members. This event marks not just a celebration of creative expression, but also serves as the perfect introduction to our exciting new initiative.
New Course: Film and Drama for Social Change
Building on this momentum, Trinity Rooms is launching an innovative Film and Drama course that combines creative storytelling with social activism run by Inclusion Gloucestershire. Based on Augusto Boal's transformative Forum Theatre methodology, this course offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore filmmaking and dramatic arts while addressing important social issues.

The course is specifically designed to be inclusive, welcoming individuals who face various disabling barriers to society, including those with mental health challenges, neurodiversity, learning or physical disabilities. No previous experience is required – just enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference.
What You'll Learn:
Drama and performance skills through games, improvisation, and scene work
Fundamental filmmaking techniques, from scriptwriting to directing
How to transform Forum Theatre principles into powerful visual narratives
Technical aspects of film production including sound recording and editing
Ways to use creative media for social change and community impact
Rather than traditional live performances, participants will create short films that can be shared across multiple platforms, maximising their potential for social impact. This innovative approach allows messages and stories to reach broader audiences while providing participants with valuable skills in both performing and digital media creation.
Most importantly, you'll be part of a supportive community dedicated to using creativity as a tool for positive change. The course offers a safe, accessible space where every voice is valued and every story matters.
The course begins in May at Trinity Rooms, Stroud. Join us in this exciting journey where creativity meets social change, and discover how your unique perspective can contribute to building a more inclusive and understanding society.
