BBC Radio Gloucester Visits Friday Café
Our popular Friday Café recently received special attention when Jo Durrant dropped by on behalf of BBC radio Gloucestershire to experience the warmth and welcome that makes this weekly gathering so special.
Jo spoke with both our dedicated volunteers who make the café possible and the regular visitors who have found friendship and community here. The interviews, which were aired on Nicky Price’s show, captured the heart of what makes our Friday Café more than just a place for coffee and cake – it's a vital social hub where connections are made and new communities are built.
"Through the Window" Podcast Launches with Festival of Santa Lucia
We're excited to announce the launch of "Through the Window," a dynamic new podcast series that takes you closer to the activities, ideas, and people that are building community in and around Stroud Trinity Community Hub. Created by founder and producer Anita van Rossum, this podcast offers an intimate look at the vibrant life within our community spaces.
The inaugural episode, "The Festival of Santa Lucia," captures a magical moment in Trinity Rooms' calendar. On December 13th, 2024, our space was transformed by the glow of this cherished Nordic celebration, showcasing how different cultural traditions can blend and flourish in our Gloucestershire community. The episode beautifully documents how carol singers and ceilidh dancers came together, creating a unique fusion of Scandinavian and British traditions that brought light and warmth to one of winter's darkest days.
"Through the Window" represents our commitment to community building in action, offering listeners a chance to experience the authentic moments, meaningful connections, and cultural exchanges that make Trinity Rooms such a special place. Each episode will spotlight different aspects of our community life, sharing the stories and voices that make our hub unique.
These new initiatives represent our ongoing commitment to amplifying community voices and sharing the stories that matter. Whether through the written word, radio waves, or podcast streams, Trinity Rooms continues to evolve as a place where everyone's story has value and deserves to be heard.
